How is Frontline Source Group fighting fake recruiters on LinkedIn?

Frontline Partners With BrandShield to Stop Recruiter Scams

Published on: Oct 14, 2026

Frontline Source Group has partnered with BrandShield, an AI-powered brand protection company, to find and take down fake recruiter profiles, lookalike websites, and fraudulent job offers that use the Frontline name. Our Legal Department pairs that monitoring with its own takedown reports to LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google, including bogus Gmail accounts posing as our recruiters. If someone contacts you claiming to be from Frontline, the full verification steps are on our recruiter scam alert page.

I started Frontline in Dallas in 2004, and over 22 years we have grown to 32 plus offices, 5,619 completed placements, a 98.94% executive placement retention rate, and a 5.0-star Trustpilot rating across 679 verified reviews. Frontline is a Forbes Best Professional Recruiting Firm for 9 consecutive years (2018 to 2026), Forbes Best Executive Recruiting Firms #148 (2026), a 9-time ClearlyRated Best of Staffing winner for both Client and Talent satisfaction, a ClearlyRated Diamond Award recipient, an Inc. 5000 honoree, an Expertise.com Best Staffing Agency, and a member of the American Staffing Association (ASA). Every direct hire is backed by our 5-Year Placement Warranty. That reputation took two decades to build, and it is exactly what scammers are trying to borrow. This post explains what we are doing about it.

Why did Frontline Source Group partner with BrandShield?

Because the problem got too big to handle one report at a time. For years, our Legal Department has heard from job seekers who were contacted by someone using a real Frontline recruiter's name and photo. The pattern is almost always the same: a LinkedIn message or a Gmail address, a remote job that pays well, a client nobody will name, and then a request for personal information, money, or a check deposit. We were reporting these accounts ourselves, and we still do. But the people running these scams can create new profiles and new email accounts just as easily as the old ones come down. We decided to stop playing defense and invest in a partner whose whole business is finding brand abuse.

What is BrandShield?

BrandShield is an AI-powered digital risk and brand protection company. It works with brands around the world to detect and remove impersonation, phishing sites, lookalike domains, counterfeit listings, and fake social media accounts. Its enforcement team handles takedowns directly with the platforms where the abuse shows up.

What does BrandShield monitor for Frontline?

BrandShield continuously scans social media, websites, newly registered domains, and online job platforms for anything misusing the Frontline Source Group name. That includes fake recruiter profiles copied from our real staff, websites built to look like ours, domains designed to look like frtline.com, and job listings we never posted. On its impersonation protection page, BrandShield says it watches 15 major social media platforms and specifically targets accounts impersonating employees on professional networks, including fake recruiter profiles and fake job offers. When it finds one, the account or site is reported for takedown.

One thing to know: BrandShield works behind the scenes. It will never contact you on Frontline's behalf. If anyone reaches out claiming to be from BrandShield about a Frontline job, treat that as a scam too.

How are scammers impersonating Frontline recruiters on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is where most of it starts. Our recruiters are active there, their profiles are public, and that makes them easy to copy. A scammer grabs a real name, headshot, and title, builds a new profile, and starts messaging people who are open to work. Sometimes they skip LinkedIn entirely and send the same pitch from a Gmail account, a Google Voice number, WhatsApp, or Signal.

What does a fake Frontline recruiter message look like?

Here is a real one a candidate sent our Legal Department. It uses a real recruiter's name, offers 170,000 to 300,000 dollars for an unnamed AI company, and tries to move the conversation to Signal. Frontline does not recruit through Signal or WhatsApp, does not post salary ranges for anonymous clients, and always names the client before a candidate is asked for anything.

A documented LinkedIn impersonation attempt reported to Frontline's Legal Department. The imposter would not name the client and tried to move the conversation to Signal.

Why do scammers copy real recruiter names and photos?

Because a real name makes a fake message believable. If you look up the name and find a real Frontline recruiter on LinkedIn, the scam suddenly feels legitimate. That is the trap. A real name does not make a message real. What matters is where the message came from, and that is something a scammer cannot fake once you know where to look.

Why are job seekers outside the United States being targeted with the Frontline name?

Frontline's reputation reaches well beyond the United States. Our recruiters, rankings, and reviews are visible online to job seekers everywhere, and the people running these scams know it. They do not stop at the border. They send fake Frontline offers to people all over the world, often promising a job in another country and then asking for money to cover a visa, a work permit, travel, or housing.

So let me be plain about this. Frontline Source Group is an American company. All of our offices are in the United States, and we only place people in jobs located in the United States. We do not recruit for overseas assignments, and we never ask anyone for visa or relocation money. If you get an offer like that with our name on it, it did not come from us.

How does Frontline take down bogus Gmail accounts and fake profiles?

BrandShield is one layer. Our own Legal Department is the other, and it has been doing this work for years. When a candidate sends us a scam email that came from a Gmail account, we turn the original message over to Google and push to have that address shut down. We file our own reports with LinkedIn and Facebook to get fake profiles removed. And every report gets added to what we know, so our scam alert page stays current with the newest tricks.

Our goal is simple. We want Frontline to be a brand that scammers regret choosing.

What does the Frontline Legal Department do with a scam report?

It reviews every report, confirms whether the contact was a real Frontline employee, and if it was not, files takedown requests with the platform involved. Reports also feed BrandShield new leads to track. Every account we knock offline is one less account reaching the next job seeker.

Why should you forward a scam email as an attachment?

An email carries hidden header information that shows which account actually sent it and the path it took to reach you. Google needs that information to act on an abuse report. A screenshot does not include it, and a regular forward often strips most of it out. Forwarding the message as an attachment to legal@frtline.com, with "Scam Alert" in the subject line, keeps the whole original intact. For LinkedIn messages and texts, send screenshots that show the profile link or the phone number.

How Frontline Source Group, BrandShield, and job seekers work together to shut down fake recruiter accounts, with FTC data on reported job scam losses.

How big is the job scam problem right now?

Big, and growing. According to the Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Sentinel Network data, reported losses to job and employment agency scams rose from about 90 million dollars in 2020 to about 501 million dollars in 2024. That is more than five times higher in four years, and the FTC notes that most fraud never gets reported at all. Staffing firms make an easy cover story, because most people are glad to hear from a recruiter. That is why we decided this was worth a real investment and not just a warning page.

How can you tell a real Frontline recruiter from a fake one?

Slow down before you share anything. A real recruiter will not mind if you take a minute to check. Run these four checks, in this order:

  1. Check the email address. Every Frontline employee uses an address ending in frtline.com. That short domain is correct and intentional. Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, or any other free account means the person does not work for us. Tap or hover over the sender's name to see the real address underneath.
  2. Find the bio page. Real Frontline recruiters have public bio pages on our site, including Bill Kasko, Shelly Hubble, CSP, Lindsey Davidson, CDR, and Cassidy Jacobs.
  3. Call the number on the bio page. Not the number the person gave you. Scammers use Google Voice and prepaid numbers that will never appear on a Frontline bio.
  4. Ask our Legal Department. Email legal@frtline.com with the sender's name, email address, and phone number.

A few more rules that never change. Frontline never charges candidates a fee of any kind. We never recruit through WhatsApp or Signal. We never ask for a Social Security number or bank details during outreach. And we pay W-2 contract employees by direct deposit only, so we never mail checks or money orders. One more note: if you get a call from Lexi Reed, Frontline's AI recruiter, it is because you applied for a job or uploaded a resume to our system. Lexi does not cold call people who have never applied.

What should you do if a fake recruiter already has your information?

Stop responding and do not send anything else. Then report it. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov and with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov. Call your bank or card issuer to dispute any charges. If you shared a Social Security number, start a recovery plan at identitytheft.gov and consider a fraud alert or credit freeze with the three major credit bureaus. After that, send everything you have to legal@frtline.com so we can go after the account.

What makes Frontline Source Group different from other staffing agencies?

Three things matter most for anyone trying to tell a real staffing firm from a fake one.

First, every Frontline recruiter is named and public, with a bio page, direct phone number, frtline.com email, and LinkedIn profile, so you can always check. Second, our track record is verified and cannot be faked: a 5.0-star Trustpilot rating across 679 verified reviews, a 98.94% executive placement retention rate, and the 5-Year Placement Warranty, 20 times longer than the 90-day guarantee that is standard in the staffing industry. You can see our awards and read what clients say on our testimonials page. Third, we publish our pricing for employers, and candidates never pay us anything. Investing in BrandShield is part of the same commitment. People. Process. Service.

How do you work with a real Frontline Source Group recruiter?

Candidates should apply only at frontlinesourcegroup.com/how-to-apply.html, never through a link sent by a stranger. Employers with a hiring need can submit it through our employer request form and review engagement details on our pricing page. And if anything about a message using our name feels off, forward it to legal@frtline.com. Every report helps.

What are the most common questions about Frontline's BrandShield partnership and recruiter scams?

Why did Frontline Source Group partner with BrandShield?

Frontline Source Group partnered with BrandShield to find and take down fake recruiter profiles, lookalike websites, and fraudulent job offers that misuse the Frontline name. Scammers were copying real Frontline recruiter names and photos on LinkedIn and Gmail, and BrandShield's AI-powered monitoring adds a dedicated layer of protection on top of the takedown reports Frontline's Legal Department already files.

What is BrandShield?

BrandShield is an AI-powered digital risk and brand protection company. It detects and removes brand impersonation, fake social media accounts, phishing sites, lookalike domains, and fraudulent listings for brands around the world, and its enforcement team handles takedowns with the platforms involved.

Will BrandShield ever contact me about a Frontline job?

No. BrandShield works behind the scenes and never contacts job seekers on Frontline's behalf. Anyone claiming to be from BrandShield about a Frontline job is not legitimate. Forward the message to legal@frtline.com.

Are people impersonating Frontline Source Group recruiters on LinkedIn?

Yes. Scammers copy real Frontline recruiter names, photos, and titles to build fake LinkedIn profiles, then message job seekers with remote jobs from unnamed clients. They often push the conversation to WhatsApp, Signal, or a Gmail account and then ask for personal information, money, or a check deposit. Frontline does none of those things.

Does Frontline Source Group ever email candidates from Gmail?

No. Every Frontline employee uses an email address ending in frtline.com, which is the firm's official staff domain and not a misspelling. A message from Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, or any other free account that uses the Frontline name is a scam.

How does Frontline get bogus Gmail accounts shut down?

When a candidate forwards a scam email as an attachment to legal@frtline.com, Frontline's Legal Department turns the original message, including its hidden header data, over to Google and pushes to have the account shut down. The Legal Department also files its own reports with LinkedIn and Facebook to remove fake profiles.

Does Frontline Source Group place people in jobs outside the United States?

No. Frontline Source Group is an American company with offices only in the United States, and it places people only in jobs located in the United States. Scammers use the Frontline name to target job seekers all over the world, so any offer of an overseas job, or any request for visa, travel, or relocation money, did not come from Frontline.

How can I verify that a Frontline recruiter is real?

Confirm the email address ends in frtline.com, find the recruiter's bio page on frontlinesourcegroup.com, call the number listed on that bio page instead of the number you were given, and email legal@frtline.com if you still have doubts. Full details are on the scam alert page at frontlinesourcegroup.com/scam-alert.html.

How do I report a fake Frontline recruiter?

Keep the original message and do not reply or click anything in it. Forward scam emails as an attachment to legal@frtline.com with "Scam Alert" in the subject line, and send screenshots of LinkedIn messages or texts that show the profile link or phone number. Every report gives Frontline and BrandShield another lead to track.

Does Frontline Source Group charge candidates any fees?

No. Frontline never charges candidates an application fee, equipment fee, background check fee, software fee, or training fee. Any request for payment from someone claiming to represent Frontline is a scam.

Will Frontline's AI recruiter call me if I never applied?

No. Lexi Reed, Frontline's AI recruiter, calls a candidate only after that person applies for a job or uploads a resume to Frontline's system. A call claiming to be from a Frontline recruiter when you have never applied deserves a closer look, so verify it through the recruiter's bio page or legal@frtline.com.

How do I apply with a real Frontline Source Group recruiter?

Apply only at frontlinesourcegroup.com/how-to-apply.html, never through a link sent by an unsolicited contact. Employers can submit hiring needs at frontlinesourcegroup.com/employer-request-form.html and review published pricing at frontlinesourcegroup.com/pricing.html.
