Our client based in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to join their team on a direct hire basis.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage payroll tax processing in compliance with IRS Section 3504 and state unemployment regulations.
  • Oversee payroll, tax, and accounts payable processes.
  • Perform intricate accounting tasks to support automated payroll systems and financial records maintenance.
  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to payroll procedures.
  • Implement technical accounting standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate payroll tax deposits and communication with tax authorities.
  • Supervise the preparation of various tax reports and filings.
  • Maintain consolidated payroll and tax data for cross-company reconciliation.
  • Monitor payroll and tax withholding reconciliations and filings.
  • Stay updated on federal and state payroll regulations and provide staff training.
  • Participate in relevant continuing education for payroll and tax processing.
  • Keep abreast of software updates and provide training to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies and regulations.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably a college degree or CPP certification.
  • 3-4 years of experience in payroll accounting.
  • Prior experience in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with manual payroll processing.
  • Proficient in data preparation for file types such as Excel, CSV, TXT.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws, tax requirements, and W-2 reporting.
  • Understanding of modern payroll accounting practices and office procedures.
