SQL Database Administrator
Our client in Houston, Texas has an immediate need for a SQL Database Administrator on a direct hire basis.

SQL Database Administrator Role:
The SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for database administration including performance, security, installations, upgrades, patches, backup, recovery, and capacity planning. This position interacts frequently with Database Developers and
Application Developers.
Lead the technical implementations of new software and hardware infrastructure.
Participate as a member of the technical team to contribute and solicit ideas for improved execution and customer satisfaction.
Analyze, solve, and correct database server and client issues in real time.
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Ensure backup and restore operations meet the business Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
Recommend new technologies and designs which improve our customer experience.
Participation in on-call support rotation.

SQL Database Administrator Background Profile:
Minimum of 5 years experience supporting SQL Server.
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
Expert level knowledge deploying SQL Server in a cloud environment.
Strong Experience with SQL Server HA technologies including FCI and AG.
Experience with Clustered Columnstore Indexes (CCI).
Experience with table and index partitioning.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
Familiarity with Star Schema data modeling.
Familiarity with Linux, Docker and containers.
