Responsibilities of the Assistant Specialty Foods Buyer:

  • Support procurement operations with a focus on inventory management, vendor relations, and strategic purchasing for specialty food product lines
  • Monitor inventory levels and develop replenishment strategies to optimize stock levels and warehouse efficiency
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and quality standards with specialty food vendors
  • Assist senior buyers with administrative tasks and maintain procurement documentation
  • Act as a liaison between vendors, warehouses, and internal departments to address inventory discrepancies and supply chain challenges
  • Stay informed on market trends and industry developments to guide purchasing decisions and identify new product opportunities

Requirements for the Assistant Specialty Foods Buyer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, procurement, or food industry purchasing
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and Google Workspace preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
