Electrical Engineer
Our client in Sugar Land, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity. This is an in-office position.

The company offers an environment where engineers work closely with manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and other technical teams to develop, test, and improve equipment performance and reliability.
Electrical Engineer Role
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems used in industrial vehicles and mobile equipment. This position will support electrical system integration, vehicle communication systems, wiring harnesses, controls, and engine and powertrain interfaces.
Responsibilities include:

Design and develop electrical and electronic systems, including wiring harnesses, control modules, sensors, lighting, and user interfaces.

Design, maintain, and troubleshoot vehicle communication and CAN bus systems.

Support the integration of electrical components with engines, powertrains, and vehicle control systems.

Perform electrical testing and validation during prototype development and production.

Analyze test results, identify electrical issues, and develop practical solutions.

Prepare and maintain electrical schematics, drawings, bills of materials, engineering change notices, and technical documentation.

Collaborate with mechanical engineering, software engineering, and manufacturing teams.

Support compliance with applicable engineering, safety, and industry standards.

Assist with troubleshooting in manufacturing, repair shop, and field environments.

Support the development of operating procedures, assembly instructions, and engineering processes.
Background Profile
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.

Minimum 5 years of professional Electrical Engineering experience.

Proficiency with CAD software, simulation software, and circuit design tools.

Strong understanding of engines, power electronics, wiring harness design, and vehicle embedded network systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems and resolving technical problems.

Experience with 2D and 3D engineering design software.

Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred; experience with comparable software such as SolidWorks or Creo is valuable.

Experience with vehicles, mobile machinery, heavy equipment, or similar industrial applications is a strong asset.

Familiarity with CAN bus systems and SAE J1939 communication protocols is highly desirable.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
