Litigation Paralegal Role
The Plaintiff Medical Malpractice Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting 2 to 3 attorneys with medical malpractice cases.
Assist attorneys in all stages of medical malpractice litigation, from initial case evaluation to trial preparation.
Conduct thorough legal research and gather relevant case information, including medical records, expert witness reports, and other critical documents.
Prepare, draft, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses.
Coordinate and schedule depositions, medical examinations, and court appearances.
Communicate with clients, medical professionals, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel to obtain necessary information and provide case updates.
Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating with court personnel.
Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed, including managing calendars, drafting correspondence, and handling client inquiries.
Litigation Paralegal Background
3 to 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on medical malpractice litigation.
Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited institution is highly valued.
In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medical malpractice laws.
Proficient in legal research and familiar with legal databases and case management software.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in document preparation and file management.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
