This is a direct hire opportunity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Client Profile<\/strong><br \/>\nOur client is a well established manufacturing organization with a large and complex Louisville operation combining heavy industrial aluminum processing with packaging and finishing operations. The facility employs approximately 650 people and provides an excellent environment for an early career EHS professional to gain significant hands on experience within a sophisticated manufacturing operation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Occupational Health &#038; Safety Professional Role<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Occupational Health &#038; Safety Professional will serve as a highly visible, boots on the ground safety resource supporting employees, supervisors, engineers and plant leadership throughout the Louisville facility.<\/p>\n<p>This position is designed for an early career EHS professional who wants to build strong technical and operational experience in a complex manufacturing environment. The successful candidate does not need years of heavy industrial experience, but they must bring a solid foundation in occupational safety, the ability to learn complex processes, strong communication skills and the confidence to positively influence safe behavior on the manufacturing floor.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 70% of this position will be spent in the manufacturing environment, with the remaining 30% supporting documentation, investigations, training, reporting and other EHS activities.<\/p>\n<p>The Occupational Health &#038; Safety Professional will work closely with the EHS Manager and broader plant team to implement and sustain safety systems while helping the organization continue developing a more proactive approach to workplace safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Success Looks 16.0px;\">Develop enough knowledge of plant operations to independently identify hazards and address unsafe behaviors<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Communicate safety requirements confidently and professionally, including situations requiring an employee to change an unsafe practice<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Demonstrate curiosity and the ability to quickly learn complex manufacturing processes and EHS requirements<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Collaborate effectively with operations, engineering and other EHS team members<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Help employees understand not only what safety requirements exist, but why those requirements matter<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Contribute to a proactive safety culture focused on identifying and reducing risk before incidents occur<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Continue developing technical EHS knowledge under the guidance of experienced EHS leadership<\/span>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\"><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor supporting employees, supervisors and operational leaders<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Conduct safety inspections, audits and workplace risk assessments<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Identify hazards and work with employees and leadership to implement corrective and preventive actions<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Independently address unsafe behaviors and reinforce established safety expectations<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action planning<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Support ergonomic evaluations and other workplace exposure assessments<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Assist with implementation and maintenance of occupational health and safety programs<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Support compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Maintain required EHS documentation, records and performance metrics<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Participate in new employee safety orientation and training<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Support training related to lockout\/tagout, confined space and other critical manufacturing safety programs<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Participate in safety committees and cross functional improvement initiatives<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Support industrial hygiene, hearing conservation and respiratory protection programs<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Assist with emergency response planning, training and preparedness<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Support Behavioral Based Safety and continuous improvement initiatives<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Work collaboratively with engineering and operations on projects and process changes<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Assist with environmental compliance activities as needed<\/span>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Required Skills:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Environmental Health &#038; Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, engineering, or a related technical discipline<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">0-2 years of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) experience (can include internships\/co-ops)<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Basic understanding of occupational safety principles and what makes an effective workplace safety program<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Familiarity with core manufacturing safety concepts (risk assessment, lockout\/tagout, confined space, hazard identification)<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Strong verbal and written communication skills<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Confidence communicating with frontline employees and plant leadership<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16.0px;\">Demonstrated ability to learn technical\/complex subject matter<\/span>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:
