Summary:
Experienced Oracle DBA expected to work with client senior staff on a daily basis; possesses the ability to build consensus among team members; is highly organized; is able to provide and justify sound business decisions; responsible for resolving critical issues in a timely manner; must posses excellent communication skills both written and verbal. This position supports a major database for the midwest from the Dallas office.

Requirements/Experience:


  • As part of an on-site team you will be technically responsible for overall operations of systems on a program or at a client site
  • Oversee system backups and restore process to ensure data integrity; Assist in developing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of data
  • Oversee installations and configurations of application and database systems; Identify, investigate, and resolve major system performance and application data issues
  • Analyze and identify system improvement pertaining to performance or data processing procedures
  • Plan and conduct database architecture changes including data migration, database migration and integration, and assist with database software upgrades
  • Participate as part of a team ensuring daily system operations are smooth, this may include following daily checklists, participating in status meetings with clients as well as being on-call.

**May require a bachelor’s degree in a related area**

  • 5+ years of experience in direct support of large, high-volume, 24x7 Oracle databases or
  • 5+ years of experience in direct support of e-commerce web application based on Oracle databases; or
  • 5+ years of experience in direct support of financial transaction systems;
  • 5+ years of experience in database backup and recovery using RMAN and OS files;
  • 5+ years of experience in installation and configuration of Oracle databases
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle database administration in Windows environment
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and Oracle PL/SQL with experience in performance tuning
  • 3+ years team leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Apache web server setup and configuration
  • Experienced in working with SAN and NAS systems
  • Development DBA responsibility for minimum of 2 large-scale projects Proficient with MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to perform under pressure; Strong problem solving skills ; Good communication (both verbal and written) skills; Detail oriented with high degree of discipline in change management process
  • Some software development experience preferred

Oracle Applications Technical Lead

POSITION PURPOSE:

As a member of IS Group, NAOps and Shared Services, the Oracle Applications Technical Lead will assume a key role in the design, structure, efficiency, technical lead and support of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions. Responsibilities also include research and evaluation of emerging technologies and designing solutions (customizations) to support business strategies. This may involve working with various counterparts across client International.

The Software Engineer will provide and review design, maintenance and evolutions on existing and future solutions, will assure proper knowledge transfer to appropriate teams, and will participate in all business projects concerning their area of the business operation.
He/She will represent his/her department towards the project and development teams, producing technical design and set up, supporting development and ensuring technical customizations (ERP framework level).

Acting as a leader in this area, his/her strategy must be aligned with the overall software architecture of the Information System, as well as with the operational requirements and business needs.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate to the review and enhancement of the current strategy regarding the ERP solution supporting various business processes, and assure proper integration of its components.
Participate in the development of the software road map in the ERP area.
Ensure the ERP solution is correctly integrated in current software map, middleware framework and global infrastructure the information system relies on.
Help to build a unified view of the business, enabling key decision makers to select appropriate solutions at the right time.
Participate in related projects, from business needs analysis through production delivery, acting as the technical leader and coordinating proper technical design, development and integration of the solution in the existing information system, in regards to his/her ERP modules and processes.
Comply with the IS QA & Health Care team standards and references, in regards to quality, performance and reusability of the developed solutions.
Comply with the IS Pre-Production team standards in regards to operability of the developed solutions.
Comply with the IS Technical Architecture team standards in regards to the global technical framework of the company.
Develop and document technical specifications to be delivered to the development team.
Ensure proper operational integration of ERP customizations (technical and development).
Identify, define and conduct unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and benchmarking.
Report progress on project to the IS Software Technologies Manager.
Propose future (mid-term / long-term) evolutions through knowledge and research on the market (emerging technologies), and propose new solutions through proven design and extensive validation testing (including anticipation of implementation and operational aspects).
Ensure appropriate documentation of architecture, design, project deliverables and status, implementation and support.
Build and maintain a proactive partnership with external vendors, including management of contractors.
Third level of support (on-call duty) for ERP-related issues.


SPECIALIZATION SKILLSET:

He/she must understand the business processes around ERP implementation.
Proven experience with the following Oracle ERP modules : ONT , AR , INV,QP and Workflow
Extensive knowledge of the following processes :Order-To-Cash.


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree in IT, MIS or CS, or equivalent experience, Masters preferred.
Able to understand and manipulate concepts as to design solutions that will fit high level business concepts as well as everyday limitations.
Extensive experience of programming.
Minimum of 3 years implementing IT solution projects, including involvement in at least one full life cycle Oracle applications implementation.
5-7 years of proven experience with Oracle 11i (design, functionalities, implementation, management and troubleshooting) application suite (11.5.9 and above), all modules are a plus.
Extensive knowledge of inter-relationship between Oracle Applications modules (ERP).
Any other ERP exposure is a plus.
Experience with various OS including Linux.
Experience with various DB engines including Oracle 8i and 9i.
Project management skills.
Microsoft Project and Visio are required.
Strong organizational, analytical, decision making skills and Project management skills.
Self motivated, eager to learn and grow in the I.S. profession.
Team player, must be able to work with people within and outside of the I.S. department. Customer service oriented.
Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.
