The position will be responsible for the following areas either through direct performance of the duties below or through supervision of others to whom the duties below are delegated.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily interaction with in-country CFO’s, controllers and staff to assure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting from the in-country institutions. (Must be able to communicate effectively with non-English native speakers.)
In-depth review of budgets, actual financial results and statements, and forecasts for the in-county institutions
Assure accurate transition of institutional reports to WIUS financial reporting system
Prepare and analyze senior management financial reports, including budgets, historical results and forecasts.
Review and assess significant accounting policies and internal controls of the in-county institutions.
Assure policies are in place to comply with foreign corrupt practices act
Identify and evaluate unusual or material transactions contemplated or implemented by the in-county institutions
Oversee both internal and external audits
Perform special projects as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
7-10 years overall professional experience
4-6 years experience in financial reporting/analysis required
3-4 years in public accounting preferred
CPA preferred
MBA preferred
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Applicant must have a strong understanding of corporate financial statements and strong analytical skills.
Travel required to controlled institutions inLatin America
The applicant must also be an independent thinker and have the ability to formulate solutions to complex reporting problems.
Applicant must be familiar with key accounting literature including pronouncements and have skill with researching complex accounting issues.
The applicant should have a sound fundamental understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting rules and disclosure requirements.
Strong writing skills required
Applicant must understand FAS 52
Great Plains experience is a strong plus.
Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus
