Reporting Relationship:
This position will report to Director, Compensation, Benefits & HRIS
Position Summary:
Overall management responsibility for the planning, design, implementation, administration and communication of cost-effective employee benefits programs, including welfare and qualified plans, consistent with corporate objectives and Human Resources strategy.
Areas of Accountability:
Plans and manages the design, implementation, communication and administration of employee benefits programs designed to attract and retain qualified employees.
Ensures that all plans are in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Analyzes existing Company employee benefit plans considering cost trends, new industry developments and market trends, and recommends changes to Company’s plans to ensure they remain both competitive and cost-effective.
Evaluates services, coverage and options available through insurance, consulting and investment companies to determine programs that would best meet the needs of the organization.
Manages ongoing relationships with external vendors and consultants.
Manages the preparation and distribution of written and verbal communication to inform employees of benefits programs and policies.
Ensures all appropriate plan documents (SPDs, SARs, etc.), notifications and forms are updated and accurate.
Oversees the payment of all benefit-related bills in a timely and accurate manner.
Manages the annual Open Enrollment process including partnering with the HRIS Manager to ensure the Oracle Employee Self Service System is accurate and available.
Responds to administrative and policy questions that cannot be answered by HR Service Representative.
Identifies, suggests and implements ongoing process improvements.
Responsible for managing a staff of 2 direct reports
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field
7+ years of employee benefits experience, or equivalent gained through a combination of education and work experience
Minimum 5 years management and supervisory experience
Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships with both internal and external vendors and customers
Ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, organize, implement and administer effectively in all areas of accountability
Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word; Oracle experience preferred
Demonstrated maturity in dealing with different level of employees and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee data
