Our client is looking for is someone to manage 2 or more billing agents, 4 or more collectors, and the supervisor of meter reading who manages approximately 15 meter readers. Utility experience is not a must, but would greatly benefit both due to the intricacies involved in utility billing. Our client bills 8 cycles per month, with approximately 50,000 bills generated monthly and then 8 corresponding cycles of disconnect notices monthly.

Since they are just looking into doing skip tracing and reporting bad debts to the credit bureaus, this person would be responsible for helping establish those processes and procedures. An accounting degree or background would be preferable, as this position could likely evolve into further accounting type responsibilities such as tracking and reconciling other accounts receivables, to possibly eventually being cross trained into other areas of accounting such as bank reconciliations, A/P and Payroll.

SUMMARY

Position Overview:

This job is located in Dallas, TX.

The Litigation Support Analyst serves as the primary point of contact between end users, support vendors and the local office Information Systems (IS) department. The mission of Litigation Support is to provide excellent customer service to internal and external users of the litigation automation systems.

Required Skills:
" Ability to work well in a fast paced environment.

" Ability to prioritize and resolve conflicting workload assignments, and adapt to changing conditions.
" Visual acuity needed for extensive work on the computer.

" Willing to travel.
" Available to work beyond normal working hours on short notice (critical).
" Working knowledge of Windows NT and Windows XP.
" Legal environment experience preferred
" Ability to successfully interact with internal and external clients
" General understanding of the nature and requirements of litigation support projects
" Strong analytical and problem solving skills
" Strong project management, communication and presentation skills
" Understanding of litigation support applications. Particularly, Concordance, IPRO, Microsoft Access, Ringtail, Adobe Acrobat, CaseMap/TimeMap, LiveNote, Sanction, Word and Excel
" Works well in a team environment but can also work well independently with little or no supervision
" Understanding and behavior in accordance with firm, office and Information Systems policies and procedures, as well as adherence to the Akin Gump Core Values.

Duties and Responsibilities:
" Serve as the key contact to internal and external clients
" Manage client needs and expectations
" Consult with users regarding the use of databases to automate litigation
" Formulate and document case-specific database design
" Formulate and document scanning and coding design specifications
" Manage project specific budgets and schedules
" Create case-specific user manuals
" Analyze and quantify data
" Administer database security
" Perform quality control of work product
" Track work performed for cases
" Manage and interact with vendors selected to perform work on cases
" Bill time appropriately
" Draft litigation support project specific plans and RFPs.
" Interact with IS and other staff in other firm offices to ensure continuity of support across offices
" Consult with users on a regular basis to determine discovery management and trial support needs
" Coordinate document production processes with litigation attorneys and paralegals
" Export data to other formats for sharing with co-counsel or clients
" Some end user training and support of Concordance, IPRO, Microsoft Access, Ringtail, LiveNote, Sanction and CaseMap/TimeMap.
" Maintain a list of ongoing projects with current status information
" Install and configure software as needed for users.
" Assist users in the use of database and image management products.
" Manage large printing projects.
" Management of special projects

The successful candidate will work in a small, entrepreneurial team with an extensive global support network of analysts and quants. Responsibilities include analysing target companies and investment opportunities across the capital structure, helping to hedge the portfolio, and communicating with counterparties, companies, and industry experts. A fundamental understanding of company accounts, balance sheets, and capital structure is required; experience as an analyst, an accountant, or in capital markets is preferred. The ability to think creatively and work independently is essential, as are good communication skills and the ability to work well with others. An excellent academic record is a must. Strong mathematical and analytical skills are a plus.
