Unemployment claims down 8,000The U.S. Department of Labor reported that in the week ended Oct. 29, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 323,000, a decrease of 8,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 331,000, or – down 2.4%. The 4-week moving average was 350,500, a decrease of 17,000 from the previous week's revised average of 367,500.
